Shapefiles

A shapefile is a widely used geospatial vector data format for storing geographic features, such as points, lines, and polygons, along with associated attributes. It was developed by Esri and is commonly used in Geographic Information Systems (GIS) for mapping and spatial analysis. Despite its name, a shapefile is not a single file but a collection of related files that work together.
